KERALA SPATIAL DATABASE
Kerala Spatial Database (KSDB) is a web based geoportal
for Kerala State. The Web portal allows the user agencies to view and access the
thematic database of the State for spatial planning. The geoportal is developed
within the Umbrella of NRDMS, Dept. of Science and Technology, Govt. of India and
Govt. of Kerala. Kerala State Remote Sensing and Environment Centre (KSREC), the
nodal agency for Remote Sensing and GIS applications in the State of Kerala, developed
the database in the Centre node. Centre for Water Resources Development and Management
(CWRDM) and Kerala State Landuse Board (KSLUB) developed the thematic database in
the sectors of expertise and functions as regional node. KSREC developed the Web
service using Open Source softwares in OGC formats. This Geo portal aims to provide
spatial data support of Kerala State
It provides the following services :
• Metadata/ Catalogue Service.
• Importing spatial features into a centralized Spatial Database Management System.
• User friendly Map viewer for rendering spatial features and its capabilities.
• Viewer functionalities and analysis tool.
• OGC interoperability tool for retrieving user specific OGC Mapping standards like
GML, KML and SVG.
• OGC Web Map Services.
• Web-GIS web library services
